Global export loadings of liquefied natural gas last month totaled approximately 30.8 million tons on board 504 vessels, considerably higher than April 2018's pace of 24.1 million tons on 418 vessels. Approximately 31.0 million tons arrived at import terminals last month, compared to 23.1 million tons in March 2018.

Northeast Asia took in 14.4 million tons of LNG last month, a 3 percent increase from April 2018.  For South Asia, the 3.4 million tons in imports last month represents a 25 percent increase from year-ago levels. The Asia-Pacific region exported about 6.9 million tons of LNG last month, a 31 percent increase year-on-year, but only slightly higher than the 6.8 million tons delivered in March. Exports from the Middle East came in at 7.3 million tons, a decline from the March pace of 7.9 million tons.

US exports last month increased 51 percent year-on-year to 2.4 million tons, somewhat lower than the volume from March. Northern Russia loaded 1.56 million tons, a slight decrease from February’s level of 1.63 million tons, but a jump from the 0.5 million tons loaded last year - a result of expansion.
